With 11 seconds to go in overtime, Bradley Wanameker hit the lay-up that gave 92 – 90 road victory to Brose Baskets against Ratiopharm Ulm and made the score 2-0 in the Bundesliga Finals.
Now Brose Baskets has a huge advantage to win the championship and make the repeat, since Game 3 takes place in Bamberg.
The game was particularly intense and close in the second half, with many changes in the lead, since no team could take distance from the other. With the score 82 – 79 and 43 seconds to go, it was a huge three-pointer by Nikos Zisis that forced the extra period in which his team prevailed.
Wanamaker was the one to shine the brightest throughout the whole match thanks to a fantastic performance of 23 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds. Nicolo Melli (16 points, 9 rebounds) and Nikos Zisis (15 points, 8 assists) provided big helps as well.
A spectacular Per Gunther (20 points, 8 assists) was not enough for Ratiopharm Ulm.
