Janis Strelnieks will remain a resident of “Freak City” for three more years. As Brose Baskets officially announced, the Latvian sharpshooter signed a contract extension until 2019.
The German champions want to keep the players who played a big part in winning the back-to-back domestic Bundesliga title and make an impression in Euroleague. A pivotal member of the team, Strelnieks averaged 9.8 points, 3.3 assists and 2 rebounds per game in the top European competition, while scoring 10.7 points and dishing 3.3 assists per game in Beko BBL.
Strelnieks arrived to Bamberg in 2014, and so far he has won two German Championships with Brose Baskets. He becomes the third player of the team that extends his contract, after Leon Radosevic and Darius Miller.
