With 28 points by Yi Jianlian, China defeated Turkey 75 – 70 in a friendly game for the premiere of the Trentino Basket Cup 2016 tournament that takes place in Italy.
The ex NBA-er was nearly unstoppable, shooting with an impressive 10/12 from the field while also grabbing 8 rebounds. Along with Zhou Peng, who dropped 22 points of his own, they formed a great duo, which hurt the defense of Turkey.
For coach Ataman’s team, that played without naturalized guard Bobby Dixon, Uguz Savas finished the match with 17 points and 7 rebounds while Goksenin Koksal added 10 points. Turkey will compete in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament of Manila, Philippines for a spot in Rio.
