Europeans continue to be a trend in Europe and even the players that you would not expect to hear, get a chance to showcase their talents.
David Jelinek left on Friday the national team of the Czech Republic, which is preparing for the upcoming pre-Olympics tournament, and his destination is Dallas. The talented forward who played this season for Anwil Wloclawek in Poland, will take part in the Dallas Mavericks mini-camp. Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (photo) will also be in Dallas for the same reason after a good season in Italy with Avellino.
Jelinek who back in 2012 played in the Summer League with Dallas, spoke to “idnes.cz” portal for this new chance: “I have a good relationship with Dallas and they are monitoring what I was doing in Europe. After this season, I received an invitation to try out. It’s an important step not only towards the NBA, which is of course the main goal. I could also get a possible deal in Europe. We’ll see if it comes down to the Summer League. It’s a good step for me to show up in other places”.
After the end of the mini-camp, Jelinek is expected back in the roster of the Czech national team.
