Taylor Rochestie may be the backcourt mate of Vasilis Spanoulis next season as the player and Maccabi Tel Aviv are talking with Olympiacos about his possible transfer from Tel Aviv to Piraeus.
After a mediocre season in Israel, both Rochestie and Maccabi are willing to part ways, but the player has a contract for one more year with a million dollars salary. And here comes the role of Olympiacos.
Maccabi is ready to let Rochestie go to an other team without asking for any kind of a buy out, provided that the new team will cover in full the player’s salary for the 2016-17 season. Olympiacos is interested in Rochestie, but doesn’t want to pay one million for him.
So far there’s a gap in the financial negotiations, but if Rochestie is ready to leave some money on the table in order to play for Olympiacos, then things may change. On the other hand, Olympiacos is not the only team interested on the services of the Euroleague top scorer of the 2014-15 season. Still the Reds have already made their move and it remains to be seen if other clubs, mainly from Turkey and Spain, also want to lure Rochestie in their roster.
