Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 17 points and dished 6 assists while Tyler Dorsey added 12 points shooting perfectly from the field, as the Greek national team won the prep game against Turkey in Istanbul, 75 – 70.
Greece made better and smarter offensive choices throughout the whole match, while their hosts lacked the appropriate creativity and would bring previous solutions in its attacking efforts. Coach Katsikaris’ team recorded almost double the assists of their opponents (23 vs 12) and rarely lost control of the game.
A late bombardment from behind the arc with Melih Mahmutoglu as the main perpetrator (12 points with 4/7 threes) was not enough for Turkey which had Cedi Osman as the top performer, with 15 points and 5 rebounds.
