He was rumored for Anadolu Efes prior to Velimir Perasovic’s arrival in the Turkish team and was also heavily linked to Laboral Kutxa. However, Dejan Radonjic will keep coaching Crvena Zvezda in the upcoming seaon.
The Montenegrin coach will stay in Red Star until the end of the 2016/2017 season as it was officially announced. Last year, Radonjic led his team into the most successful season in the club’s history, since Zvezda won the ABA League, the Serbian League and made it to the Euroleague playoffs for the first time ever.
After such a season, it was natural for Radonjic to enter the “most wanted” list of coaches in Europe. He was quite close to Laboral Kutxa but ultimately declined the offer of the Spanish team. From that point on, it was only a matter of time for Crvena Zvezda to announce that he remains with the team.
