With Pau Gasol opting out from his contract with the Chicago Bulls, the San Antonio Spurs have him on top of their free agents list according to “The Vertical Podcast” of Adrian Wojnarowski.
Considering the fact that the Spurs tried to get him in the past when he left the Lakers for the Bulls and also the winning tradition of the team, Gasol who would like to play for a title contender is expected also to be interested in signing with the Spurs.
If he stayed with the Bulls, Gasol’s salary would have beeen $ 7,7 million for next season. Considering the raise of the salary cap for next season, this number may prove to be quite small considering what he may get in the summer market, even if he is going to be 36 years old.
