According to Turkish website Ajanssport, Stephan Lasme failed to pass a doping control test after the fourth Turkish League semifinal game between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.
A banned substance, most likely marijuana, as Turkish media report, was found in a blood sample that the center of the “Cimbom” gave after the match that took place on May 31.
Lasme had also failed another doping control test after the third quarterfinals game between Galasaray and Pinar Karsiyaka. He was then found positive to the banned substance “Carboxy THC”, which the body creates after cannabis use.
Even though the Gabonese center was initially in Galatasaray’s plans for the new season, the team had decided against re-signing him after the previous doping case. He now faces a possible six-month ban from courts.
