The Rockets will be able to match any offer made to Donatas Motiejunas and keep him on their roster after giving him the qualifying offer and turning him into a restricted free agent.
The qualifying offer for Motiejunas is $3,278,996 so it’s obvious that he can get much better offers as a free agent and when this happens, it will be interesting to see if the Rockets will match them in order to keep him.
Despite his injury woes, Motiejunas played 37 games in the last season, being a starter in 22 of those and averaging 6,2 ppg and 2,9 rpg.
Rockets have tendered a qualifying offer to Donatas Motiejunas, person with knowledge of the move said. Not offering one to Terrence Jones.
