Nicholas Batum will remain in Charlotte Hornets for 5 more seasons, as both sides reached a deal of $120.000.000.
The French player was traded to Hornets in 2015 and made his debut in October of the same year against Miami Heat. Batum now holds a player option in the fifth season of his contract.
The deal was made via a phone call, as Batum traveled to Dallas and met with the Mavs, while also having telephone meetings with other teams. Still the French swingman wanted to get to end of the negotiations as fast as possible, so he can join the French national team for the upcoming pre-Olympic tournament in Manila. With the new deal with the Hornets being a reality, it remains to be seen when he will be able to play for the French national team.
