While Manu Ginoboli announced that he wants to play for one more season, Tim Duncan is “leaning strongly toward retirement” as the Vertical reports.
This will be the end of an era for the NBA and the Spurs, as Duncan made the team a dynasty by winning five championships with San Antonio. Duncan recently elected to exercise the $5.6 million player option on his 2016-17 contract – a payment the Spurs could still make to Duncan regardless of whether he plays or retires.
This turn of events makes even more urgent the need of the Spurs to sign Spanish legend Pau Gasol to a deal, a match that at this point seems to be made in heaven for both sides.
