After finishing the season in Unicaja Malaga Mindaugas Kuzminskas will continue his career in the NBA.
According to Donatas Urbonas who reported first the deal, the Lithuanian forward has agreed to a two-year deal with the New York Knicks and he is going to play next to Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis.
Kuzminskas didn’t hide his ambition to play in the NBA and traveled earlier in the summer in Los Angeles in order to work out for various NBA teams. Meanwhile, David Blatt’s news team, Dogus Darussafaka, tried to close a deal with him in order to make him one of his stars in the upcoming Euroleague season.
According to sources from Turkey, Dogus Darussafaka finally secured a deal with him which includes a typical $650.000 NBA buy out. The Knicks can pay with ease in order to sign the player. If Kuzminskas didn’t get an NBA deal until the 14th of July, then he would have played next season for Dogus Darussafaka.
