They say that where there’s smoke, there is also fire. And at least there was a flame in the case of Rudy Fernandez and the Sixers.
One day after the report about a $20 million offer by the Sixers and the denial from the States, the Spanish star spoke to the Spanish media after the practice of the national team and clarified the whole situation.
As he said, when he was asked if he will follow his teammate in Real Madrid, Sergio Rodrigue to Philadelphia: “I had some contact with the Sixers, they have asked for me and nothing more. What they are saying about the money and all the rest, it’s wrong. I am very happy and calm in Real Madrid. I have a contract for two more seasons and at this momemt my mind is focused only in the Spanish national team”.
However, he didn’t deny that the NBA is an interesting option: “You never know what may happen. I am willing to listen, I am not closing any doors. It’s true that Philadelphia asked about me. There are some condition in order for anything to happen, I have a contract. I have talked with Sergio, he is very happy and I believe that he is getting a great opportunity”.
