Thanks to another powerful performance by Bojan Bogdanovic (25 points, 2 steals) Croatia beat Tunisia 72 – 52 to advance in the semifinals of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, simultaneously eliminating their opponents in the match. Greece awaits the Croatian team to fight for a spot in the Final.
The brilliant efforts of Michael Roll (21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists) were not enough for the Tunisian team that managed to stay competitive only for the first two quarters of the game.
And that is because Croatia’s qualitative superiority didn’t become much obvious until early in the second half. It was then that with a 12-2 partial score coach Repesa’s players got a 15-point lead, 43 – 28 which set them on the path of what was ultimately a relatively easy victory.
Apart from Bogdanovic, 76ers bound Dario Saric was also of big help to Croatia with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists.
