Nikola Kalinic spoke to Eurohoops in Belgrade, where he fights with Serbia for a ticket to the Olympic Games. Fenerbahce’s forward is ready to go all the way, even this may get mad one of his good friends.
When asked about Serbia’s perfomance in the OQT so far, the player wasn’t satisfied, despite his team’s 2/2 wins. “We won games that we didn’t totally play well, with “empty minutes”, bad desicions and bad periods of game time, but we won. We won two important games that will hopefully help us to achieve the goal, to chase the dream [we’ve had] since last year’s semifinal against Lithuania. We have just 2 games until the Olympics so we’ll give it everything we have. We have to be focused.”
Serbia takes over Czech Republic in the semifinals, where Kalinic is going to face his Fenerbahce teammate Jan Vesely. “We’ve talked. Of course we knew that we might play against each other since we knew the schedule. It’s going to be interesting. We normally play in the same team so it’s gonna be fun. We will forget about all that friend stuff when the game starts, but this is going to be it. He’s provoked us, we’ve provoked him, I hope he’s not mad after the game!”
