Timofey Mozgov signed his contract with the Lakers and Andrei Kirilenko, as the president of the Russian basketball federation had only good things to say about his former teammate.
As Kirilenko stated: “It is clear that this agreement is good financially. But it also guarantees an important role for Mozgov within the team. It may not guarantee a position in the starting five, but it shows the intention of the team to give Timofey an active role in roteision. With this contract the Lakers demonstated their trust and the confidence that Mozgkov will be useful for the team”.
The former player known also as “AK47” explained what this move means for Russian pride: “It’s definitely good when Russian players are appreciated so much. And now we really have a representative in the NBA, who is much appreciated. A player, whose work, perseverance and effort proved that he can play at the highest level”.
