Gustavo Ayon will continue wearing the jersey of Real Madrid. The “Blancos” officially announced that they reached an agreement for a three-year contract extension with the Mexican forward/center.
While his name was heavily linked with Fenerbahce (prior to Ekpe Udoh’s new deal with the Turkish club) and other major European clubs, Ayon has ultimately chosen to remain in the team with which he first introduced himself in Euroleague and also won the competition’s trophy in 2015. This is a major deal for the ACB champions that keep a highly integral player of their roster and an important part of the core that led them to many successes in the last two years.
Ayon averaged 11.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game in last season’s Euroleague and 11 points, 6 rebounds plus 2 assists in Liga Endesa.
