Bayern Munich announced what was rumored for a long time. Svetislav Pesic is no longer the coach of the team, as he is leaving his position due to health reasons.
As the 66 years old coach said:”In coaching two things are fundamentally important: you have to make decisions and you have responsibility for the team and the development of the players. I am sure that I have made not only a good decision for my health, but also taken the appropriate responsibility in terms of the further development of our team. For any other decision which I might have taken in the false hope of a faster recovery, the risk would be too great for the team. I wanted to avoid that at all costs”.
Pesic has had surgery on both his knees. According to various reports from Serbia his heir is one of his “children”. Sasha Djordjevic who played under Pesic in the junior national teams of Yugoslavia is going to be the coach with a new three year deal.
