Vasilis Charalambopoulos has been most impressive in the U20 FIBA Championship in Chalkida and led Greece back to Division A. It’s been known that both coach Pedoulakis and Panathinaikos wanted to keep the player, thus a new contract has been made.
Charalambopoulos will stay with the team for the next 8 years, while the contract includes opt out clauses only if the NBA comes knocking.
“I’m very happy to continue playing in Panathinaikos for many more years. It’s one of the most historic clubs in Europe and it’s an honor for every player to wear this jersey. I want to thank the board and Mr. Dimitris Giannakopoulos for their trust in me. I will do my best to live up to their expectations” said the leader of the junior Greek national team.
