After adding Victor Claver, Barcelona proceeded to finalize another powerful move by signing American point guard Tyrese Rice with a two-year deal.
Rice has been recognized as of the top guards in Europe during the previous years, particularly after his breakthrough season on the highest continental level with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2013/2014. His stunning performances in the 2014 Final Four led the Israeli team to the Euroleague trophy and earned him tournament MVP honors.
The next two years of his career brought him to Russia, playing for Khimki Moscow where he won the 2015 Eurocup, being also named MVP of the competition. During the previous season, he averaged 12.4 points, 6.1 assists and 2.1 rebounds in Euroleague.
In light of Tomas Satoransky’s departure from Barcelona for the Washington Wizards, Rice is expected to become the new “floor general” of the team with whom it becomes much faster compared to last year.
