Behind 19 points by Andres Nocioni and 12 by Luis Scola, Argentina got the easy 97-78 over Croatia in the “Four nations” preparation tournament in Cordoba, Argentina, before the Rio Olympics.
Mario Hezonja scored 17 points from the bench, trying to give a lift to Croatia, but this came too late. Argentina started the contest with a 23-10 first quarter and everything was easy after that. The Europeans were clearly out of synch, something more than evident with them dishing just 4 assists and having 19 turnovers.
Maybe the explanation for this performance is just the jet lag, however Argentina proved once again that despite its aging stars, it remains one of the best teams in the world.
