On 23th and 24th of September the Spanish Supercup tournament will be held in Fernando Buesa Arena, Vitoria with the participation of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Gran Canaria and Laboral Kutxa, the hosts of the competition.
The three top teams of the 2015/2016 Liga Endesa plus the finalist of the Copa Del Rey, will enter the battle for the first title of the upcoming season. Barcelona won the tournament last year in Malaga, after beating hosts Unicaja in the final. It is the team with the most SuperCopa titles, with six so far and it will look to add another in its trophy case.
Real Madrid and Laboral Kutxa have won the Supercup four times each. Baskonia will look to lift a … “curse”, of sorts, since it failed to win the title in each of the three cases that the tournament was held in Vitoria (2011, 2013 and 2014).
