The Serbian national team is going to enter the battle of the Olympic Games by playing against Venezuela. While Stefan Markovic admits his team’s superiority against its opponents, he also calls for caution.
“We have no doubt that we are better than them, but we have to show it on court”, said the Serbian point guard. “The outcome will be depended on how we enter the game”.
Markovic believes that teamwork is the key to success for his team. “We had some incredible assist numbers in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Serbia. In the final, we dished 37 assists. I was shocked with this number. Before the game, we were saying to each other that we have to play as a team. And that’s what we did. That’s what we generally try to do. There is no selfishness in this team. Everybody looks for each other. And I think that this is transmitted from the way we socialize with each other outside the court.”
