Nikola Mirotic has been one of the players that stood up for the Spanish team in the defeat against Croatia (72-70). The power forward scored 19 points, but obviously wasn’t satisfied as he stated: “Today we have not been humble. Last year we were worse, but we turned the tables and were champions. We want to get something similar this year.”
Spain trimmed the deficit and Mirotic believes that “when they began to get nervous we had to take a step forward, there is was no margin of error. Small details in the end decided the match.”
Next target for Spain is hosts, Brazil: “They have very talented players and are physically well. We have to get better.”
