After losing to China in their first game, France reacted and got the 88-60 win over China. Nando de Colo scored 11 of his team-high 19 points in the second quarter, when Les Bleus took control of the game in Rio Olympics.
Leading 19-14 at the end of the opening period, the French extended the advantage to 42-23 by half-time and China could not return to the game after that. Tony Parker had 14 points and 8 assists.
Center Rudy Gobert had also a great game with 5 blocks to go with his 10 points and 8 rebounds. However small forward Nicolas Batum registered a game-high 10 rebounds and also had 7 points and 3 assists.
