France got its first win in Rio with China being the victim, however this result doesn’t mean much for the upcoming big game against Serbia.
Speaking after their win in the French news agency AFP, Boris Diaw and Tony Parker were more than clear about this. “China is not on the same level with Serbia, so it’s just good that we found a rythm but we have to continue like that against opponents that belong to an other level”, said Diaw.
Parker explained: “In this game we found our identity, but we have to understand that the opponent was just China. We have a long road ahead of us. I will try to get into my rhythm, because I have lost many practices and I have not played a lot in the preparatio games. That’s not an excuse, I will not use this fact like that. I will not make the same error that I did in last year’s Eurobasket and wait for the final phase. Serbia is one of the favorites to get a medal, so this is going to be a big game”.
