The absence of Tony Parker for France’s starting 5 against USA along with the fact that he never entered the game weren’t left unnoticed. But there was a good reason for him being sidelined by coach Vincent Collet.
As the French basketball federation announced, Parker suffered an injury after getting hit on his left toe in the previous match vs Venezuela. The medical staff of his team decided to keep him out of today’s match as a precaution.
Though the injury is not serious, there was no reason to risk anything ahead of the crucial upcoming quarterfinal game of “Les Bleus”.
