Sergio Rodriguez made the most important play of the game against Australia, Spain won the bronze medal and “El Chacho” is leaving for the NBA with one more success under his belt.

“I’ve been fortunate to coincide with this generation and win many medals, which in the end is what we are working for”, said the experienced point guard who clarified that this game was more than important for Spain: “It was a very tense game and we knew how important it was, even after the loss to the US. We wanted to play one more final in the Olympiacs, but  the game against Australia turned out to be a key in our effort, because it was not in our plans to return home without a medal”.

Rodriguez was also asked about the referees of bronze medal game and their calls: “The referees have allowed a lot but they have been fine, they had to control the game. In the last free throws I imagined that I was in Madrid during practice”.
