As it was expected from last week, Semih Erden will stay for one more season in Dogus Darussafaka.

The club extended its contract with national team center Semih Erden (30) for another year. Standing at 2.13m, Semih Erden was selected by Boston Celtics in the 2008 NBA Draft and played with Cleveland Cavaliers and Celtics from 2010 to 2012 in the NBA. Last season, Erden stood out with his performance with Daçka, which played at the semi-finals in the BSL and Euroleague Top 16, playing in 24 games in the latter with an average of 9 points and 4.8 rebounds. In the Turkish BSL, he played in 32 games averaging 9.2 points and 4 rebounds per game.

Semih Erden started his career at the youth setup of Turkish Basketball League team Darussafaka before achieving important successes with KK Partizan, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Besiktas, Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce.

Commenting on the renewal of his contract with Daçka, Semih Erden said: “I am very happy to sign up for another season with the team. We want to continue this seasons our last season’s rise as a team. We further strengthened our roster. We are confident that we will achieve our goals at the end of this season under our new coach David Blatt.”
