A week ago the tragic news of the death of Ioanna Aggelopoulou-Stahtou, wife of Olympiacos co-owner Giorgos Aggelopoulos, shocked the club and fans all over Greece.
The 42 years old Ioanna lost the battle to cancer and the grief for the whole Red family still is unbearable. The club with a video that was posted today in her memory, remembers some of the good times and also a story that Giorgos Aggelopoulos revealed during the only television interview that he has given so far.
When he and his brother Panagiotis Aggelopoulos had almost decided to leave and sell the team during the summer of 2011, his wife was one of the people that persuade them to change their mind. After a few months, Olympiacos won the Euroleague for the first time since 1997.
