Maccabi Tel Aviv warmed up for the grand “Diamonds Are Forever Tournament” by playing a quite tough prep game vs AEK, in Athens and winning 68 – 67.
The Israeli team was ahead in the score even with 14 points (60 – 46) but their hosts came back to tie the game 60 – 60 with three minutes to go. A quick reaction by Maccabi gave them a new lead which they preserved until the end.
Sylven Landesberg one of the… veterans of the “Yellows” was his team’s top scorer scorer with 15 points, D.J. Seeley added 11, Maik Zirbes 7 and the club’s newest acquisition, Colton Iverson had 6.
For AEK, Jawad Williams scored 17 points while Kostas Vasiliadis added 13.
