During a recent interview with the Spanish AS, the president of the Spanish basketball federation Jose Garbajosa, sent some sort of an…. “open invitation” to Luka Doncic to join the country’s national team.
“We’d be delighted if he wants to play in Spain. However it’s his decision to make,” he said. And why wouldn’t he, since we are talking about arguably the absolute top European prospect of his age.
It didn’t take long for the arrival of Doncic’s answer to Garbajosa’s flattering comment. The young Madridista cleared things up regarding which jersey he’s going to wear in his international career.
“I am very thankful to Real Madrid, Madrid city and Spain but my choice was always to play for my home country, Slovenia”, he wrote in his Twitter profile.
