Almost three weeks before the Euroleague opener against Darussafaka Dogus in Belgrade, Crvena Zvezda is making a big attempt to sign experienced forward/center Loukas Mavrokefalidis.
According to Eurohoops sources, the ABA League champs have already sent an offer to the Greek player and are pursuing adding him to their ranks. There is a shortage of big guys in Red Star’s roster, which features only Ognjen Kuzmic as a pure center and Milko Bjelica as someone who can contribute in both frontline positions.
While Mavrokefalidis is seriously considering the option to continue his career in the Serbian team there is an important economical difference between him and the club. It remains to be seen if it is resolved and the player will make a return to Euroleague after 2014/2015.
