The “International Basketball Tournament” that takes place in Crete, Greece, began with Anadolu Efes playing a beautiful game with which it easily prevailed over 94 – 72 over Hapoel Jerusalem.
DeShaun Thomas fired at will (25 points, shooting with 7/8 from behind the arc) and Thomas Heurtel set his teammates with scoring opportunities (9 assists to go with his 10 points). Meanwhile Derrick Brown was always a threat (14 points) and Bryant Dunston (13 points, 6 rebounds) won many battles vs Amare Stoudemire, for coach Perasovic‘s team that looked quite ready ahead of the upcoming season.
With his 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, Jerom Dyson stood out from Hapoel Jerusalem. Newcomers Shawn Jones and Tarence Kinsey also scored in double-digit numbers with 14 and 10 points respectively while the team’s superstar, Amare Stoudemire finished the game with 8 points and 4 rebounds in 22 minutes.
