Blatt: “We are not at that level yet”

Dogus Darussafaka beat Fenerbahce in the Zadar tournament and coach David Blatt is trying to keep a low profile despite the result.

The experienced coach wants more from his team and is not putting it on the same level with the top competition: “We played against the Euroleague finalist and the greastest coach of the European basketball tonight. We won but it was just a final of a preparation tournament. Winning is just a step forward but nothing more. I liked how we played hard and competed to win. I am hearing people saying that we are one of the major teams in the Europe now. We are not at that level yet. This will be our second season in the Euroleague. We made it to the Top 16 last year. We have a long ahead of us to even think of being at the same level with Fenerbahçe or CSKA. We are not at that level, we are not even close.”

Still, things can change: “The good thing is if my players are willing and motivated to work we have a chance to progress. We have to go slowly and improve every day.”
