The first of the two pre-season games of Oklahoma City Thunder in Spain against Euroleague teams turned out to be a “Clasico”.
Despite an explosive start and a 65-50 half time lead by the Thunder the game was decided in overtime with the “Whites” getting the big 142-137 win and having the best offensive performance ever for a European team against an NBA franchise.
Real Madrid managed to come back into the game and get a 114-113 lead in the fourth quarter. Alex Abrines, a former member of the Madrid’s arch-rival Barcelona, gave a 122-117 lead to Oklahoma City with a three, but in the end of the 48 minutes Sergio Llull at the buzzer with an other big shot send the game to overtime.
The ball got into his hands and the Spanish guard just let it fly.

Things didn’t chance in overtime with both teams staying close to each other, but a 5-0 run by Othello Hunder who finished the game with 19 points gave to Madrid a 140-134 advantage with 34 seconds left on the clock. It proved to be enough.
Victor Oladipo led the Thunder with 34 points, Enes Kanter added 29, Russel Westbrook had 18 points, Alex Abrines contributed 12 points and Ersan Ilyasova 11 points, while Domantas Sabonis had 7 points and 5 rebounds. For Madrid, Jaycee Carroll got his job done with 24 points, Llull had 22 and 9 assists, while Trey Thompkins scored 16 points.
