An absolutely dominant Crvena Zvezda squad transformed what was supposed to be the absolute ABA League derby of Day 2 into a a blowout, winning 88 – 64.
After a bit of a nervous start from both teams, Red Star went all guns blazing against its opponents. With Stefan Jovic conducting his team’s offense as a perfect maestro (16 assists) and Charles Jenkins (15 points) plus Marko Simonovic (16 points) finding easy paths to the basket, the champs scored 73 points in 30 minutes.
Not only was the Croatian team unable to hold back that storm, but failed to respond in an appropriate manner in its own scoring efforts, save for the last period when all was, more or less, said and done.
Dzanan Musa was the top contributor for Cedevita with 12 points, while Ra’Shad James added 11 and Karlo Zganec 10.
