Antoine Diot missed a three, Jerome Dyson got the rebound and then gave to Hapoel Jerusalem a 80-77 lead and that was enough. The Israeli team of Amare Stoudemire got the road win (81-77) against Valencia.
The hosts lost two more chances to send the game to overtime with French guard Diot missing one more three and then captain Rafa Martinez who finished the night with 22 points losing the last chance.
On the other hand Stoudemire had a double double (10 p., 10 r.) while Dyson scored 17 points and Curtis Jerrells led the scoring of Hapoel with 18 points.
Hapoel got a small 20-16 lead after the first quarter, led by 10 points at the 24th minute (52-42) and despite the come back of Valencia which cut the lead to two (60-58) near the end of the third period which was completed with the Israelis leading by three (61-58).
