Fuenlabrada reached its first Eurocup win of the season with 89-85 over Khimki. That was the Russians’ first loss since they beat Lietuvos Rytas in the premiere.
In a rather balanced game, Khimki was better at creating, with 17 assists over Fuenlabrada’s 10, though the former lacked concentration in crucial points of the game. Marko Popovic took charge against his old team with his valuable experience for the Spanish team in the final quarter and helped his team seal the victory with 22 points.
Ivan Paunic added 15 and Moussa Diagne 12 (9 rebs) for Fuenlabrada, while for the visitors Sergey Monia had 18 points and 6 rebounds, followed by Earl Rowland’s 15.
