Hedo Turkoglu was elected today as the new president of the Turkish basketball federation. The former NBA player got 113 of the total 143 votes and he was the only candidate for the position.
Previously Turkoglu who is also a special advisor of the Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has served as the CEO of the federation.
Turkey which will co-host the upcoming Eurobasket 2017 also intends to be a candidate to organize the FIBA World Cup of 2023.
