Bogdan Bogdanovic hurting his ankle was the only bad note for Fenerbahce on a night where things were easy. The team of coach Obradovic, as expected, beat Zalgiris Kaunas (82-68).
The Lithuanians proved feisty, cut the lead of Fenerbahce even to two points (49-47) but the quality difference between the two teams was obvious. The hosts who had a 44-37 lead at half time, had a 63-56 advantage at the end of the third quarter and thanks to an 11-3 run at the start of the fourth (74-59) ended Zalgiris’ ambitions for good.
It was a team effort with Ekpe Udoh and Jan Vesely scoring 14 each and the Czech big man making 8/8 free throws. Pero Antic also had 11, Bodganovic 10 before his injury and Kostas Sloukas dished 11 assists.
For the losing side the duo of Leo Westermann (15 p.) and Brock Motum (14 p.) tried their best but it was not enough in any way.
