After leading Joventut Badalona to victory over Manresa in the Catalan derby, Albert Sabat was named MVP of Week 6 in the Spanish League. It’s the first time in his career that he receives said distinction.

The 31-year-old guard scored 26 points and dished 4 assists to his teammates during the 29 minutes he stayed on the floor, achieving a rating of 25 in the evaluation index. More than any other player out of winning teams in GameDay 6.

Perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of his performance was the gunning from downtown. Sabat dropped 6/8 three-pointers, making small work of the opposing defense, as Badalona won its first game in the season.

“Winning MVP is a secondary matter.  I wanted to win the game and that’s what we accomplished as a team”, he said for the official site of ACB. “I started the match by making my first shots and that always helps you. You see the basket grow larger after this. In the end, I won some free throws thus finishing with such high evaluation”, he added.
