Miroslav Raduljica returned to the Peace and Friendship stadium last week and played against Olympiacos. The Serbian center spoke to OTE TV in Greece about his experience in Panathinaikos, the finals in which he didn’t take part in and the successful team Serbia!

You carry a silver medal from Rio. How was this summer?

“I don’t have it with me, I’ve given it to my family and my father to keep it. I would lose it for sure! It was a good summer for me and team Serbia. And what I expect from my new team is to keep going and bring the energy from the national team to Milan and have a good season.”

You would prefer to be more active in the Greek finals last season, but how would you evaluate your experience in Panathinaikos?

“It was a very good experience for me. The last part of the season didn’t end well because we didn’t get the title. These games against Olympiacos were special, not just for the Greeks of the team but for me too. But it doesn’t matter now. What is important for me is that I’ve met great people in Greece and I have a lot of friends. People I truly consider friends, thus that’s the point.”

Do you think that if Djordjevic would have stayed, things would be different in Panathinaikos?

“It’s difficult to talk about it now. About what would happen if something else would, because… Because you never know what would happen if I had stayed in the team. Maybe it would be worse, who knows? You never know and you can never tell. Of course I wish I’d play in these finals. Of course I wish I’d stayed in Panathinaikos but that’s life. Some things you cannot control, that’s the way it is and we move on. But as I said, the most important thing for me is that I’ve met nice people. People I now consider friends.”
