Keith Langford help Unics defend its homecourt against Crvena Zvezda in a very tight game, which ended 65-62, and improve to 2-4.
From early on, the score was close, with the two teams fighting toe to toe. Luka Mitrovic and Ognjen Kuzmic had 14 of Zvezda’s 17 points after 10 minutes and the score was even. The visitors got a 3-point lead for the first time in the game with a long distance shot of Nate Wolters at 17′, then Marko Simonovic drilled another one to send his team to the lockers with a 27-32 lead.
The Serbian team started pulling away in the third period, with Kuzmic even sending the deficit to 10 points, 29-39. The hosts bounced back soon enough and the score after 30 minutes was 41-43. Just when Unics dropped the difference to 3 points again, the visitors’ Wolters was there to give solutions to his team with his shooting. Keith Langford put Unics on his shoulders with less than 2 minutes in the game and his contribution determined the fate of the game.
For the winners, Langford scored 23 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and handed out 2 assists.
