After the road defeat of Zalgiris Kaunas in the hands of Barcelona, head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius expressed his complaints on the way the referees behaved towards the Lithuanian club not only in tonight’s game… but during previous matches as well.
As Lithuanian journalist Donatas Urbonas reported, Jasikevicius said: “Refs had big impact. We can no longer stay silent. Euroleague don’t respect us. So why they need Zalgiris?”
“We played good but we can’t recover from referees’ calls. Every 50/50 decision is against us. We will try to fight outside the court now. If not for the refs, we would be in a different situation now. I don’t understand why they punish us in every game,” Saras added.
Zalgiris Kaunas currently stands at a 1 – 5 record in the Euroleague regular season.
