It wasn’t the first time and most likely won’t be the last. Luka Doncic led all Real Madrid players in evaluation rating as his team cruised to a 86 – 59 victory over Iberostar Tenerife, improving its Spanish League winning record to 6-1, same as the one of Barcelona.
Staying on the floor for 31 minutes, more than any other of his teammates, the 17-year-old Slovenian guard scored 13 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 5 assists for 21 PIR. He also finished the game with 23 +/-, the second best among the Madridistas after Jaycee Carroll (14 points). Gustavo Ayon also added 14 points, along with 7 rebounds while Sergio Llull dropped 10 plus 6 assists.
Pablo Laso’s players were significantly better than their opponents who were truly competitive until the mid of the second quarter (32 – 30). Tenerife then suffered a 14 – 2 partial score, falling behind for good. This is just the second defeat of the pleasant surprise in Liga Endesa’s season so far.
Aaron Doornekamp (11 points), Fran Vasquez (10 points) and Mamadou Niang (10 points) scored in double digits from the losing side.
