After the win of Galatasaray against Dogus Darussafaka, coach Ergin Ataman talked also about the situation with Russ Smith and Justin Dentmon, who are going to have a different future in Istanbul.
As Ataman said: “I don’t expect Smith to wear a Galatasaray jersey again. Dentmon appoligized to the board of the club and he is ready to accept any punishment from the club. After the board meeting on Tuesday we are going to decide what we will do about a possible transfer”.
Ataman insisted that the two players, despite Dentmon’s public denial on twitter, were out all night in Kaunas: “They were taken out of roster because they left the team hotel without permission and didn’t came back till morning. Smith isn’t practising because he feels pain at his ribs but both doctors and hospitals couldn’t find anything. They asked blood tests from him but eventhough he was at hospital he didn’t do it. They informed his agents and FIBA about this”.
