The Charlotte Hornets got the win over Atlanta in a key game for the standings. Dwight Howard was ejected with 5:38 left and his team leading by three when he threw an elbow at the head of Charlotte center Cody Zeller and received a Flagrant-2 foul. The Hornets scored the next nine points and snapped Atlanta’s six-game winning streak with a 100-96 victory Friday night.
French star Nic Batum had 24 points and 10 rebounds, Italian Marco Belinelli added 6 points and assists, while Zeller matched his career high with 23 points on 9-of-10 shooting for the Hornets, who earned their biggest win of the season.
In Denver, the Raptors got the close 113-111 overtime win with Lithuanian center Jonas Valanciunas having 15 points and 9 rebounds and Austrian Jakob Poeltl adding 6 points and 6 rebounds. For the loosing side Italian Danilo Gallinari had 21 points and 9 rebounds, Bosnian Jusuf Nurkic added 14 points, Serb Nikola Jokic scored 8 points and Spaniard Juan Hernangomez scored 1 point.
