Baskonia is facing CSKA Moscow on the road for the 9th Round of the EuroLeague regular season and Shane Larkin was asked to comment on Milos Teodosic, who will most likely be his direct matchup in the game.

“Teodosic is a great guard. I saw him in the Olympic Games and he looked a great player to me”, said Larkin to Basque newspaper El Correo.

It’s going to be nothing less than a clash between two of the top playmakers in EuroLeague. Larkin is averaging 13.8 points, 6.8 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 steals so far, while Milos Teodosic drops 15.3 points and dishes 8 assists per game.

“He is capable of scoring and looking over the defenses. He doesn’t seem to be the strongest nor the fastest but some of his assists are spectacular,” Larkin added about the Serbian maestro of CSKA Moscow.

The 24-year-old point guard also discussed his adaptation in European basketball. “I must admit that our first games, especially those in Euroleague were hard to adapt in when it comes to the physical requirements of the game. There are also differences in generating space or even the arbitration. I needed two or three games to get a clearer idea of how everything works.”

He also noted another major difference between Euroleague and the NBA. “Especially in Euroleague, every game and every point counts and define the outcome of the regular season. One basket can resolve the tiebreaker between two teams with the same balance. It’s very different from the NBA.”
